Roar & Explore with Dinosaurs: A Prehistoric Adventure at the Amazeum

If your kids love stomping like a T. rex or digging for backyard “fossils,” get ready for a dino-mite experience. As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, the Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville is hosting Roar & Explore with Dinosaurs, a wildly fun traveling exhibit produced by the Miami Children’s Museum. The exhibition opens May 25 and will remain up through September 15.

Step into the Jurassic—No Passport Needed

More than a walk among dinosaurs, Roar & Explore is a fully immersive journey into the prehistoric past. Spanning 2,500 square feet, the exhibit showcases seven life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs that roar, rumble, and move just like they did millions of years ago.

Kids can meet a towering Diplodocus, stare down a growling T. rex, and even witness baby Velociraptors hatching. With dino nests, and themed zones, the environment is designed for hands-on discovery and imaginative play.

Science Through Play

This exhibit turns learning into an adventure. Children can dig for fossils, assemble 3D skeleton puzzles, and explore prehistoric habitats through sensory-rich activities. While they’re having fun, kids also learn how fossils are formed, the kinds of dinosaurs that once roamed Earth, and how scientists use evidence to understand the past.

“We design experiences that spark curiosity and imagination, and Roar & Explore is a perfect example of that,” says Holland Hayden, Senior Manager for Marketing and Communications at the Amazeum. “It encourages children to explore scientific ideas through play—and that’s when real learning happens.”

Inspiring Tomorrow’s Explorers

For parents thinking ahead, Roar & Explore is more than a weekend activity—it’s a chance to plant seeds for future scientists. Experiences like these help children see themselves as paleontologists, geologists, and explorers. Your backyard dino-hunter might grow up to study fossils for real.

A Special Exhibit for a Special Year

Bringing this exhibit to Northwest Arkansas is part of the Amazeum’s 10-year anniversary celebration. Since opening, the museum has been a favorite for families who want to combine fun and hands-on learning.

Beyond Roar & Explore, the Amazeum features permanent experiences like the Hershey’s Lab, where kids can explore the science of chocolate, and the Nature Valley Water Amazements outdoor playscape.

A Roar-some Time for the Whole Family

Between daily routines and to-do lists, it’s easy to forget the magic of learning together. Roar & Explore with Dinosaurs invites families to reconnect, get curious, and, yes, even roar a little. Whether your child is dino-obsessed or just loves a good puzzle, this exhibit promises fun, discovery, and memories that will last long after the fossils are buried.
